Frequently Asked Questions for our Subaru drivers

Why come to Suburb Service rather than a national tire store or import specialist?

We know your Subaru, inside and out. You are not paying us to learn how to fix your car because we already know - that's all we do is Subaru's! After 15 years of servicing only Subarus, we have seen most every problem regarding your Subaru. We can diagnose it quicker and fix it quicker than the other guys. What that means to you is less expensive repairs and money saved by you. And, remember, we use genuine Subaru parts - the other guys typically don't. More knowledge, service, and genuine parts means quicker turn-around time and better quality repairs for you. You wouldn't go to a dentist for a heart problem, then why would you go to a non-Subaru repair shop to fix your Subaru?

Why come to you for oil changes, when the "quickie" oil change places are more convenient to me?

There is a huge difference in the quality of the oil and filter. We use factory-recommended Kendall in you car, plus we use only GENUINE SUBARU oil filters. The other guys typically use high paraffin base, less expensive motor oil and "fit-all" filters that are designed to fit not only a Subaru, but a Honda, a Toyota and who knows what else. Your Subaru is a major investment; we recognize that and give you the best possible service and use genuine parts to give your car the longest service life.

What cars do you work on?

We only work on Subaru vehicles from 1985 1.8 liter engine to brand spanking new.

What services do you perform?

We do all of your scheduled maintenance and factory-recommended services that keep your car at its peak performance. We can fix your check engine light with factory equipment; we can make your brakes stop squeaking, etc. The list goes on and on…. you name it we can do it, except body work.

Do you provide phone estimates?

Yes, we can give you a phone estimate, but please remember that until we see the car or listen to the car, the estimate may not be 100% accurate.

How do I make an appointment?

You can make an appointment by phone, or by email. We need to know the year of the car and the model. You can even make an appointment by phone on Saturday or Sunday as the phone is always answered even on the weekends because your car does not always pick a weekday to breakdown or act badly.

How should I plan the day of my appointment?

You may drop your car off 2 ways: 1) Night drop: outside the door is a metal box with envelopes and pens; please fill out the envelope in full including all phone numbers that we can reach you at and any special instructions for reaching you. Also explain what the problem is or what service we are doing, then sign and date the envelope and include your keys. If you have keyless entry, we need the remote fob. 2) You may come into the office between 7:00 and 9:00 and leave your car with us. After you fill out a repair order, you’ll be on your way. During the morning hours your car will be looked at and diagnosed. If there is a problem, you will be called to discuss the problems with your car. When your car is finished, you will be called to be advised of the status of your car.

What’s included in your service when I drop off my Subaru?

We only do work that you specifically authorize. If you scheduled a specific service, that work will be performed. If we discover any other needed repairs/work that we recommend for your vehicle, you will be called and you will make the decision as to what else needs to be done to your car.

Do you have Loaner cars?

We provide free loaner cars. These cars are available to you when we perform major services on your vehicle such as 15,000 or 30,000 services. Just call us in advance to schedule your service appointment and reserve your loaner car. There is no charge for these cars - we only ask that you replace the fuel that you use during the day so that the next customer is able to use the car. Before you pick up your loaner car, please remember that you’ll need to have a current valid driver’s license and carry full insurance coverage on your car in order to use a loaner. Should you have an accident in one of our loaner cars, you and your insurance company will be responsible for any damage to the vehicle. If you prefer renting a vehicle, we can call Enterprise and they can arrange for a rental for you at a low rate.

What are your payment terms?

We accept all major credit cards and debit cards with the exception of Diners Club. Cash works fine and we will take your check with proper identification. (Sorry, no first-born children.) We do not have any short or long-term financing available, however, as of this moment, we are working on that.

Will your technicians do my car right?

Most definitely. All of our technicians are certified and the bonus here is the same tech works on your car each time it comes in.
