Over priced, over charged. Friendly staff but that will cost you.

I will NEVER EVER in a million years bring my car to be repaired by these people! They are rude and dishonest. I am trying to sell my subaru......had a pre-sale inspection done at Smart Services (best subaru shop EVER) and everything checked out ok. A potential buyer wanted to get the car checked out and chose this shop. After I got the car back from them doing a "visual inspection" the car was making a horrible detached exhaust sound. Suburb Services denies touching anything, but I have the paperwork to prove that there was nothing wrong with the car going into the shop. Instead of owning their mistake and offering to fix whatever they did to it, they completely denied everything and proceded to make me feel like I am in the wrong and that my car is a big piece of junk. If you like being talked to like you're the biggest idiot in the whole world and have money to throw at the birds, bring your car to this shop.......but if you want to go to a place that is respectful and honest and has fair pricing steer clear from this horrible place.

I've taken my Subaru Forester to Suburb Service ("All we do is Subaru") for at least 7 years now, and I've found them to be reliable, responsive, and more than fair. A few examples out of many I could cite: When I said I'd like to replace the failed clock above the rear-view mirror, the owner said, "You don't want to do that. The labor's too expensive. Just buy a little clock and stick it on the dash." When I'd been driving with my emergency brake slightly engaged, leading to brake fluid overheating and a loss of brake power, I called Suburb Service; the owner did a quick diagnostic over the phone, told me to stay put, called a tow truck for me, and had the car towed to their shop. When I had semi-flat tire that became totally flat as I was driving to a tire store, I called SS; the owner and a mechanic came to me to change to my spare so that I could continue to the tire store. Incredibly, she didn't even charge me for the personal service, simply saying that I'm a good customer! When I replace this Forester, one major reason to buy another Subaru will be that I can still go to Suburb Service!

I have been going to Suburb Service ever since I bought my Outback almost 2 years ago. All the work I have done to the car has been done at very comparable pricing. A great place. Not to mention the kewl little reminders you get in the mail for your oil changes. -AF

So I just wrote a review for USA Auto Glass which is located right next to Suburb Service, an independent Subaru Repair Shop. As I was waiting for USA Auto Glass to open at 9, the industrious folks here were already open and stopped by my car to see if I was there to see them. After a brief conversation about how I was waiting for the other shop to open up, the Suburb Service lady went on her way. As I sat in my beloved 2002 WRX, I thought, man I should see if they can do anything about the underskirt of my car that is starting to drag along the ground. With nothing but time on my hands, I got out of my car and went into their office to ask how much would it cost to repair or replace the part? Well, long story short they gave me a very detailed explanation about how Jiffy Lube's and other oil change places don't remove that skirt and motor oil will eventually drip on the skirt and cause it to sag and eventually tear. As my eyes glazed over from all the details, I brought myself back to consciousness and asked the dreaded question..."So how much does it cost to fix or replace"? $100 or so was their answer. Right...that's not including labor...As I was looking at spending somewhere between $200 - $700 for repairs to my windows, I was a little hesitant. The nice people at Suburb Service probably sensed my reluctance and told me that they offer FREE oil changes for first time customers. Free you say? Also when they change the oil, they completely remove the skirt and replace it so if I wanted to, I wouldn't be charged the labor cost of installing the underskirt. Quite incidentally I was due for an oil change. At this point it was a win win. So I arranged it so that once the auto glass people were done they would hand the keys over to the good folks at Suburb Service and have everything done and waiting for me by 4:30. The people here are very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately they found a few things wrong with my car and gave me a written estimate. No BS or anything like that, just a warning that I would need to take care of it, no pressure to do it with them. I will from now on be going to Suburb Service for all oil changes and car maintenance. If you own a Subaru, do yourself a favor and check these guys out. They specialize in Subaru and are so much cheaper than a dealership.
