Best Weekend Getaways to Drive to From Seattle

Hello, Seattle Washington! All of us in the Pacific Northwest agree that Seattle is an incredible city to explore and reside. Sometimes, you just want to get away and see what else this beautiful area has to offer. Thankfully you have a reliable Subaru to get you there.

Here are the BEST places to drive to from Seattle if you haven't been yet...or even if you have!

Friday Harbor, WA

Just 103 miles away from Seattle, this small seaside village is the perfect getaway from the big city. The homey, small town feel will have you greeting strangers on the street while checking out the boutique stores along the seaside by day, and jamming to local music with your new friends at night. Since most things are within walking distance, leave your car behind and take a ferry to this destination for a couple days to disconnect.

Olympic National Park, WA

Similar in distance at 110 miles from Seattle, this park meets the needs of your inner rustic boy or girl scout. The park includes mountains, beaches, lakes, hot springs, and rainforests while spreading over one million acres!

With not many roads, this is the perfect place to hike, camp, ski, swim, and explore. They even have a few annual "free park" days if you're on a budget.

Who knew you could hide out in a treehouse 25 miles away from the city! Each fully furnished treehouse is uniquely decorated with handmade art and furniture.

A little farther out at 135 miles away, this faux Bavarian village is completely unique from anywhere else in Washington. Not only are you among the scenic Cascade mountains, but where else are you going to get to be among another culture like this, by only traveling this short distance?

Indulging in schnitzel, oversized beers, and sausages while surrounded by people dressed in lederhosen, you will also have the option to hike, bike, ski, or river raft Really...what more could you want?

Beer isn't your thing? Don't worry, Washington has some of the best wine regions! Among some of the first, is Yakima. Known for it's beautiful, sunny weather, this is the perfect location for top notch wine and vineyards.

Surrounded by cultured activities, you'll be able to see the naturally grown grapes while also checking out wild asparagus and other plants. This destination is 142 miles from Seattle, and with all the drinking options available, you will want to book couple nights.

Closer but still includes wine, this resort is 80 miles east of Seattle. Home of a winery, golf course, ice skating rink, spa, and restaurants - this is a great place to go with a significant other or family. The spa includes multiple treatment options, as well as a fitness center and pool with indoor water slides!

Washington really does offer something for everyone. It's incredible to research what is right outside your doorstep. These are incredible options, and only a small percentage of what is available!
