Out with the old, in with the new. As we come to a close on 2017, 2018 holds all kinds of fresh starts and new projects. One thing we are looking forward to is the new 2019 Subaru Ascent which will be sold exclusively in North America.
On it's way to production, the reviews of what to expect are here - and Subaru is more modern and sleek than ever while still holding on to it's rugged and adventurous reputation. Did we mention it comes with 19 cup holders?!
While the new CUV has several comparisons for the concept, there is nothing quite like this three rowed vehicle. Similar in length to the Ford Explorer at 198.8 inches, the Ascent sits a little more than 2 inches taller, and has shorter overhangs front and rear that give the Ascent a more aggressive stance.
Said to replace the Tribeca, the Ascent has some bold visual features to go along with the all new turbocharged boxer engine. Using Subaru's "Konoji" daytime-running-light design paired with a massive grille, the Ascent somehow looks graceful with its flowing lines, while definitely being able to hold it's own in masculinity.
Interior wise, Subaru has stepped it up a notch. Possibly more impractical than expected, the Ascent's aesthetics take precedence over practicality. A good way to picture the interior is to imagine an XXL version of the Impreza, and replace all buttons and switches with touch screens. That's right - everything.
The Ascent has touch sensitive climate, windows, and door lock controls. We wonder what touch screen window "switches" will be like - hard to know until we try! However, with the modern conveniences, roominess, and oomph from the engine - we are excited to see the vehicle as a whole, as it's guaranteed to live up to the Subaru name.
We think the new 2019 Subaru Ascent will go well with our adventurous Washington state. With 2019 on the horizon, start planning your own upgrades and adventures.
