Washington is beautiful in December-that's undeniable by residents and visitors alike. Adding a little holiday cheer to our great state is easy as throwing a holiday parade and festival of lights. 1. Anacortes

Ready for a coastal Christmas? Take a trip north to the beautiful city on the water, Anacortes. Light the tree, sing a carol, and soak up the holiday cheer for only a few hours drive away from Seattle. Take a ride on their Holiday Trolley during the first four Saturdays in December; the trolley operates from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on these days.

2. Puyallup

Puyallup celebrates the holiday each year with a Victorian Country Christmas Festival. From November 30 to December 4 at the Washington State Fair Events Center, you can enjoy a winter wonderland come to life. Take the kiddos to Santa's Village or hang out at the Winter Wine Garden with your friends.

3. Spokane

No one ever said Spokane lacked the holiday spirit. If you're looking to drive through Christmas lights (and see some pretty creative light displays) check out the neighborhoods around Spokane. The town will kick off the holiday season by lighting the Christmas tree on November 23 at Riverfront Park-you don't want to miss it!

4. Chehalis

Santa Claus is coming to town-and he's making a stop in Chehalis! Take a ride on Santa's train or the Polar Express at the Chehalis Centralia. The Santa Holiday Train is approximately 30 minutes long, and each family will enjoy a "surprise" visit from Santa during the train ride.
