1. Go camping.

Mount Rainier National Park has three major campgrounds that are absolutely worth your time: Cougar Rock, White River, and Ohanapecosh. Cougar Rock is among our favorites because it's centrally located and offers larger families or groups with accommodations. If you're looking for a riverfront adventure, Ohanapecosh is your best option.

2. Take a hike.

Hiking is another especially popular activity when visiting Mount Rainier. From the Skyline Trail Loop to Spray Park, you're sure to find a challenge. Many trails will allow you to ascend multiple peaks on a single hike-and you might even see some beautiful wildflowers along the way!

3. Drive the scenic route.

Don't have time to hike? Just want to take the scenic route? A drive through Mount Rainier park can be a relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Enjoy a variety of hairpin turns through steep mountain trails and an abundance of greenery. Take a bike along, if you wish, and enjoy a breath of fresh air too.

4. Enjoy brunch.

Paradise Inn near Mount Rainier is named one of the original "Great Lodges of the West." On Sundays, they serve brunch to guests and mountain trekkers alike...just make sure to show up early. Since 1920, this rustic inn has served as a landing place for hikers and mountain goers-it's a can't miss stop!

5. Have a picnic.

Only have an afternoon? Pack a picnic and enjoy it at one of Mount Rainier's famous parks. Among our favorite picnic spots is the Summerland Camp. The Summerland area makes for a perfect day hike-and you'll get to see some awesome views of Mount Rainier from afar.

6. Snap a family photo.

Mount Rainier is also a great picture spot. With so much natural beauty to capture, you don't want to forget to pack your camera when you make the trip. Pro-tip: you can capture a close-up view of Mount Rainier from Panorama Point on a clear day.
